About Us

Metal Crafters was founded in 1979 by Larry Gable and Harold Hensley.  Given the opportunity to make a fresh start and do something new, Larry and Harold decided to make a career out of something that had been a passion of theirs for a long time.  A specialized machine shop in the Carpet Capital of the World.  Since the 1960’s, Dalton Georgia was making its mark as the epicenter of Carpet Manufacturing.  With the experience of both Larry and Harold, they decided to partner together and manufacture wearable parts for the Carpet Industry.  These parts, known as loopers, were used in tufting machines for carpet manufacturing.  For the next 38 years, Larry and Harold formed a partnership that supplied and greatly impacted the floor covering industry. 

 

For years, Harold had the pleasure of working alongside his sons, Mark and Jeff Hensley.  In 2017, Mark and Jeff acquired the company from Larry and Harold.  Mark and Jeff grew up around the business their whole lives.  Both have worked in the business and both have the experience to continue the family enterprise for many years to come.  Mark is the President of the company and Jeff serves as the Vice President.
